Ingleside Vineyards
Ingleside Vineyards is a winery located in the Northern Neck George Washington Birthplace AVA, an American Viticultural Area located in the Northern Neck region of Virginia. Ingleside claims to be one of the oldest and largest wineries in the state, established in 1980, and part of an estate of over owned by the Flemer family since 1890.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=History of Ingleside Vineyards )〕
==History==
The Ingleside estate was built in 1834 as Washington Academy, a boys' school. It also served as a Civil War garrison, and a courthouse. The estate has been owned by the Flemer family since 1890, running it as a dairy farm for the first 50 years. It later evolved into Ingleside Plantation Nursery and in 1980 Ingleside Vineyards was established.〔
Ingleside Vineyards also owns Wirtland.
